CHETWYND AWARD PRESENTED TO Minds Eye Entertainment AT 20th BANFF TELEVISION FESTIVAL

(BANFF) At today's Canadian Film and Television Producers Association (C.F.T.P.A.) Banff Television Festival Awards Luncheon Minds Eye Entertainment was presented The Chetwynd Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence. The award recognizes special achievements and demonstrated private sector excellence in the motion picture industry. Past recipients of the award include Nelvana, Alliance Atlantis Communications and Rhombus Media, among others. The nominee can be any individual or company working in any sector of the Canadian film and television industry: the winner is selected by the membership of the C.F.T.P.A. and finalized with the majority vote of a jury comprised of former Chetwynd Award winners.

The Chetwynd Award is the latest in a string of awards for Minds Eye Entertainment in the past year, including: the 1999 CanPro Award for Best Youth Programming for Incredible Story Studio; a Gemini nomination for Incredible Story Studio in the category of Best Children's or Youth Program or Series; three 1998 Saskatchewan Showcase Awards; an AMPIA Award for Mentors as Best Children's or Youth Program or Series; as well as numerous other national and international festival awards and honorable mentions.

Minds Eye CEO and Executive Producer Kevin DeWalt accepted the award on behalf of his partners ( Rob King - President of Creative Affairs, Ken Krawczyk - Vice President, Production and Josh Miller - Vice President, Development) and 45 employees.
