Just Cause EARNS EIGHT LEO AWARD NOMINATIONS
Nominations include Best Dramatic Series and Best Director
April 23, 2003 – (Regina, SK) Minds Eye Entertainment (formerly Minds Eye Pictures), Western Canada’s largest independent film and television production company have announced that its Vancouver-filmed legal series Just Cause, has earned eight Leo Award nominations. The Leo Awards celebrate excellence in film and television in British Columbia. A co-production of Saskatchewan and British Columbia, Just Cause currently broadcasts in Canada on W Network and PAX in the U.S on Tuesdays at 9pm ET.

Hailed as “the next best thing to Erin Brockovich” by the Los Angeles Daily News, Just Cause stars Lisa Lackey (John Doe, Far and Away) as Alexandra DeMonaco, a wrongly convicted young mother turned legal eagle. When paroled from prison, she lands a job as a legal assistant to a respected civil lawyer Hamilton Whitney (Richard Thomas – The Waltons, Wonder Boys). With their help, Alex uses her new skills to champion underdog cases, clear her name and search for her missing daughter. Filled with suspense, mystery, true grit and good humour, Just Cause was created by Jacqueline Zambrano, creator of the Emmy award winning Gabriel's Fire with James Earl Jones and Gail Morgan Hickman, creator of The Sentinel and The Enforcer.
