Minds Eye Entertainment BRINGS TRIMARK'S INCONVENIENCED TO REGINA
Released: July 6, 1998
(REGINA) Principal photography has begun on Inconvenienced, a Trimark Pictures production in association with Minds Eye Entertainment. A majority of the shoot is on location outside Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and will wrap August 4.
Starring in the film is Jamie Foxx (Booty Call, The Truth About Cats and Dogs, The Great White Hype) as Michael and Nia Long (Soul Food, Love Jones, Made In America) as his finacee Rae.
Inconvenienced is a comedic "Dog Day Afternoon" set in a convenience store, and centers around a battling engaged couple. When Michael (Foxx) gets caught in a hostage situation at a mini-mart during a robbery, he begins to think back to what was good in his relationship with Rae (Long), his fiancee, and what went wrong. At the same time, Foxx's character befriends the robber, Rodrigo, played by Eduardo Yanez (Wild Things, Striptease) and helps him conspire against the Sheriff played by Barry Corbin (Solo, The Fanatics).
The feature also stars John Cullum (The Secret Life of Algernon, Northern Exposure) as the Sip 'n Zip mini-mart owner Jack; Michael Shamus Wiles (X-files The Movie, Desperate Measures) as the trivia-quoting biker; Sarah Paulson (The Other Sister, American Gothic) as the slightly "touched" Mary; Roselyn Sanchez (Captain Ron, Fame L.A.) as Trina, the "brains" of the robbery; Diego Fuentes (Joe Torre:Curveballs Along the Way) as the slow-witted robber Sal; Sam Gifaldi (Leave it to Beaver, Malice) as Rusty, the local kid; and, Gary Owen (Comic View) as the hapless lawman Clute.
The film is directed by Steve Rash (Eddie, The Buddy Holly Story) and written by up and coming comedy writer Jeff Eastin. Producers are Neal Moritz, Jonathon Komack Martin and Stokely Chaffin. Executive Producers are Kevin DeWalt, of Minds Eye Entertainment and Trimark's Mark Amin.
Inconvenienced is the first American service production to utilize the Saskatchewan Film Employment Tax Credit. The incentive has attracted a lot of attention, and co-production opportunities, since its announcement in March 1998.
Kevin DeWalt says the Film Employment Tax Credit puts Saskatchewan on a level playing field with other provinces.
"Inconvenienced
is an example of the Saskatchewan film industry now having the clout to attract
high-quality international motion pictures.
The Tax Credit is truly paving the way towards the industry's goal of $100 million
in annual production within the next five years."
