Stranger in Town

Harry Hamlin (L.A. Law, Making Love) stars as Jack Beldon - a mysterious drifter who becomes a murder suspect soon after arriving in the town of Elm Creek. The made-for-TV-movie also stars Rebecca Jenkins (Black Harbour, Bye Bye Blues) as Katherine, a single mother who leaves an abusive relationship to seek a fresh start in Elm Creek, along with her 13-year-old son Aaron, played by Trevor Blumas (Little Men), and her four-year-old daughter Kim, played by Carly McKillip.

Stranger in Town also features Canadian Oscar-nominee Graham Greene (Dances With Wolves, Die Hard 3) as Eddie Lester, a strange figure known to the locals as "The Creeper."

Saskatchewan actors helped to round out the cast. Blaine Hart (The Lost Daughter, Scrounger), Lisa Pollock (Murder Seen, Incredible Story Studio), Iain MacLean (Without Malice, Something More) and Trevor Steve (Incredible Story Studio), along with 500 extras, all help to give the production a Saskatchewan flavour.

Veteran director Stuart Margolin (The Sweetest Gift, Saltwater Moose) led the mostly Saskatchewan-based crew, while Director of Photography Jim Jeffrey (Silent Cradle, Changing Places) ensured the film was striking, appropriate to the mood of the story. John Hopkins (Dunstan Checks In, Torment) wrote the script out of his love for the work of Alfred Hitchcock and the mystery-thriller genre.

Shot entirely in Saskatchewan, locations included Indian Head, Regina and the Qu'Appelle Valley near Lumsden.
